Cristiana Pasca Palmer, Romanian Minister of Environment, has decided to stop the proposal to allow hunting on 1,691 wolves, bears, and wild cats. With this decision, Mrs. Pasca Palmer has written history, for the first time in Romanian history, trophy hunting on large carnivores is banned. FCC supports her decision wholeheartedly and we congratulate her for this brave step! It is an extremely important moment for conservation as well as for implementing real measures to decreased human-wildlife conflicts. The Ministry of Environment’s Plan to launch a new emergency service for wildlife conflicts will assure for the first time in Romania the adequate application of the EU Habitats Directive.
