CARPATHIA volunteering

Donate your time for conservation

PROGRAMME

Foundation Conservation CARPATHIA is developing a pioneering program in Romania, one of the most important conservation initiatives in Europe. If you are convinced of the vision and the results of our unique project, join our efforts to protect the last virgin forests of Europe and create a world-class wildlife reserve here in the Fagaras Mountains.

We are looking for nature loving volunteers to cover the activities from the following five pillars of activity:

  • conservation
  • ecological restoration
  • fauna / flora
  • events, communication, administrative & IT
  • conservation enterprise in rural communities.

We agree with each volunteer the program, taking into account its availability and our internal need. Depending on the volunteering program chosen, some positions may cover accommodation, meals or transportation, others may not.

We issue volunteer contracts, practice certificates and, upon request, letters of recommendation at the end of the volunteering period, for all those who comply with the program and the duties established by mutual agreement. Also, if you are a student and working on a doctoral thesis or a bachelor’s degree, your work with CARPATHIA can help you in documenting it.

What to do?

Study our volunteer “offer” we have available in different departments and apply if you have the necessary training/skills, sending an e-mail and a short intent letter to a.boghiu@carpathia.org.

Volunteering positions

Inheritance is not only what we have received, but also what we leave behind!

The world of people working in conservation is a small one. Especially in Romania! We have huge country potential to keep the biodiversity others have already lost. Come and see with your eyes the results of the ten years of pioneering of the CARPATHIA team and also contribute!

You are suitable if:

  • you love nature, you are enthusiastic, proactive, communicative and, above all, responsible; for certain positions it is absolutely necessary to have an enviable physical condition 😉
  • for the technical positions a minimum of knowledge in the field (forestry/botany/biology/ornithology) is required.
