The event is organised by Foundation Conservation Carpathia and Racovița Town Hall.

Highlights of Făgăraș Fest 2025

Făgăraș Fest promises an unforgettable experience. At the foot of the imposing Făgăraș Mountains, by the Moașa River, visitors will enjoy three days of exploring nature, walking along spectacular trails, savouring the authentic tastes of local traditional foods prepared with care by regional producers, followed by live music under the stars and evenings of storytelling.

On Friday, the festival will begin with a guided tour of Sebeșu de Sus, led by a local guide, offering insights into the village’s history, stories, architecture, and community. In the evening, Subcarpați will perform a concert set to be one of the highlights of the edition, followed by the screening of the film The Architects of Nature. On Saturday, the atmosphere will be energized by Vama, taking festival-goers through captivating rhythms. And, as the night in the mountains has its own charm, the festival will offer evenings of music under the stars, where attendees can enjoy the magic of nature.

Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the natural environment through guided hikes, learning about the flora and fauna of the Făgăraș Mountains, visiting waterfalls in the Moașa Valley and Suru Cabin, and enjoying educational activities for children. Time spent in nature will be complemented by inspiring discussions at Carpathia Talks, returning this year. Specialists from Foundation Conservation Carpathia and their guests will share field experiences and key information about biodiversity, conservation, the role of local communities, and green businesses.

A new feature for this edition is the expanded camping area, offering visitors a comfortable and friendly space, ideal for a holiday in the heart of nature, close to all festival activities.

Get Ready for Făgăraș Fest 2025 – Tickets Available Now!

This year marks a special moment in Făgăraș Fest’s story: for the first time, access to the festival will be ticketed. This change comes in response to the conclusion of the European LIFE project that supported previous editions.

To attend Făgăraș Fest 2025, we invite visitors to visit the official festival website and purchase tickets in advance: fagarasfest.ro, preparing for an unforgettable nature experience! Residents of Racovița Commune, Sibiu County, will enjoy free access to the festival upon presentation of an ID card.

“We chose to introduce a ticketing system to continue the tradition of this festival, which has become so dear to the communities around the Făgăraș Mountains and to attendees who return year after year,” said Victoria Donos, Director of Communications, Foundation Conservation Carpathia. “Prices have been kept affordable, reflecting our commitment to all participants. It is important to note that all funds raised from ticket sales will be reinvested in organising the event and supporting local communities. Every ticket purchased is more than an entry – it is a direct contribution to the future of Făgăraș Fest and to preserving the spirit of this event, which connects us with nature and regional traditions.”

Făgăraș Fest Highlights Authentic Regional Flavours

The festival showcases exceptional products from local producers, crafted with traditional skill and care. Visitors will discover a market dedicated to local traditions, where artisans and small producers will offer authentic flavours and carefully crafted items. From delicious foods made from local ingredients to handmade products created with respect for traditional crafts, Făgăraș Fest invites attendees to experience a true immersion in local culture.

Făgăraș Fest 2025 – A Festival for the Whole Family

Every corner of the festival tells a story – whether it is a song that brings people together, a craft passed down through generations, or a hike that reveals the beauty of nature.

As in previous editions, the festival fosters a sense of connection between people and nature, while areas dedicated to artisans and small producers add flavour to the event. Făgăraș Fest remains a place where traditions are respected and promoted, and it becomes a space for learning, recreation, and celebrating nature.

“Făgăraș Fest is not just a festival,” added Victoria Donos “but an opportunity to bring people together from across the country to celebrate the nature and traditions that give life to our region. It is a platform to highlight the importance of protecting the Făgăraș Mountains and their biodiversity, and through supporting local small businesses and ecotourism, we contribute directly to the sustainable development of the area. We invite everyone to Făgăraș Fest to experience authenticity, learn, enjoy nature, and be part of a community actively involved in conserving an invaluable natural heritage.”

A Festival with Impact

Făgăraș Fest maintains its mission to support the creation of the Făgăraș Mountains National Park and to highlight the importance of protecting this valuable ecosystem. The festival provides not only leisure but also an opportunity to invest in the local economy and promote the development of ecotourism in the area.

Since its first edition, Făgăraș Fest has become a key regional event, attracting thousands of visitors from across the country, coming to discover and celebrate the area’s natural beauty and local traditions. In 2024, the festival welcomed 7,000 visitors, with over 30 artisans and local producers participating. The economic impact on the community neared €350,000, reflecting not only high attendance but also direct support for small local businesses, promoting sustainable development in the region.

Sebeșu de Sus Becomes the Permanent Home of Făgăraș Fest

From 2025 onwards, Făgăraș Fest will have a permanent ‘home’ in Sebeșu de Sus, Racovița Commune, Sibiu County. Following a close competition between Brăduleț, Lerești, Nucșoara, Porumbacu de Jos, Racovița, and Victoria – each presenting charming projects and unique ideas – the emblematic festival of the Făgăraș Mountains has found its permanent location. Sebeșu de Sus, with its impressive landscapes and a community dedicated to conserving nature and local traditions, will host the festival in the coming years.

We look forward to three days in tune with nature, waking up to the song of birds and falling asleep under the music of the stars!
